Anja Borgstrom is a warm-hearted, creative, teacher originally trained in Iyengar inspired yoga @ The Yoga room in Berkeley. For 20+ years she has been offering safe, yet dynamic practices to a wide audience from pre-schoolers to 50+, as well as leading yoga retreats in Northern CA and Hawaii

YOGA for STRENGTH & BALANCE
Wake up with a sunny yoga practice, which will focus on aligning breath with movement, building strength and stamina, and exploring balance. With a knack for variations, Anja’s inclusive style invites a practice appropriate for the individual.

GENTLE YOGA               

Enjoy mellow, accessible gentle yoga, with many variations for the individual! Discover the artful use of yoga props, to aid in gentle stretching, strengthening, and range of motion. Explore supported, restorative poses, to develop a keen breath awareness and deep relaxation. Anja has been teaching yoga since 1994, and specializes in Gentle and Restorative Yoga.

 

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • One, but preferably two Yoga blocks
  • One yoga strap
  • One yoga blanket ( or thick, padded mat)

Tai Chi with Nobuo Nishi

This class teaches tai chi for better health, improving students’ strength, balance, flexibility, and dexterity. A gentle martial art, tai chi is a safe, rewarding activity for people of all ages and levels of health. Tai chi emphasizes the mind and body working in harmony. Relaxing the body and calming the mind help reduce stress and increase the flow of energy

Family Yoga

Come join Lori Hess with Way to Glow Kids Yoga for some family yoga time where parents and kids will playfully explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness activities together.  Family Yoga (kids aged 2 to 5) on Tuesdays @ 10:00 – 10:45 on the lawn outside the Kensington Community Center and Family Yoga on Saturdays @ 10:00 – 10:45 (kids aged 2 to 5) and 11:00 – 11:45 (kids aged 6 to 12) on the lawn outside the KCC office/Recreation Building (past the tennis courts). Tuesday classes run 9/20 – 10/25 and Saturday classes run 9/24 – 10/29. If possible, please bring a waterproof blanket/tarp, two yoga mats (we will have extra mats available if you need), warm layers in case it is chilly, and a water bottle. Masks are optional. Suggested cost: $25 per parent/child pair plus $5 for each additional family member.   Sign up for the 6 week session or drop in as you are able. Puppy Training Class

 Puppy-1 Starts 9/6 5:30pm       Puppy-2 Starts 9/6 6:45pm


Class will meet 4 times beginning Tuesday, September 6th Puppy 1 at 5:30 for one hour and Puppy 2 at 6:45 for one hour.

Naoimi Friedman has a Certificate of Basic Dog Training from Dog Training Internship Academy July 2012
and has been training dogs and walking dogs ever since. Specializing in
Dog Leash Reactivity.

Basic Puppy 1- Training for dogs under 6 months of age.

Basic Puppy 2 – Training for dogs 6mo to 1yr or who have completed Puppy 1.

We will be in a secure space restricted to 10 dogs. There will be times of
Free play and times of Structured (training)play.
All participants must show proof of completion of inoculations before being
allowed into class. Basic skills are : Recall (Come); Sit; Stay; Leave It; Off.
Please bring: a fixed length (6′) leash; poop bags; high value treats.
Not allowed: prong; e-collars; choke collars – Martingale collars OK. Harness
also fine.
There is an open field outside the room for “pottying” your pup before and after class.
Family members are welcome!
